Going into today, I have so much to do to get Big Spirit Studio ready for you all this fall. I have been really enjoying watching the studio grow and change already. Just from this first summer session I can see where storage is needed and systems will have to change a bit. It is exciting. And it is cool to notice in myself the part of me that has learned to see the journey and enjoy it. Because it’s all the journey, right? I am grateful to be less hung up on the destination,
On Monday I started sketching in a new sketch book. Pencil on paper. As I’ve mentioned before, drawing is my old friend. I used to do it for hours everyday, copying images, trying to get the shading right. Or drawing from my imagination and that thrilling feeling I felt when I could get the image to have form and presence. Just the familiar sensation of pencil graphite on paper brings me back to a state of being very much me. In my body. It is an almost private relationship.

Well, I’m back from my first weekend away as a parent. It was more like 5 days, Wednesday - Sunday.
